An appeal to Big B – Amitabh Bachchan   1 comment

Everybody knows you, because you are superstar, not only in India, but also in the world.

Congratulations on your successful journey in life. Life and the world has bestowed upon you all the love and the richness (some of which may be beyond your expectations). And you a truly lovely (and successful family).

Somebody put the net brand value of the Bachhan family to be approx Rs. 1000 crores. Well, a very impressive figure to be proud of.

The family value ingrained into your immediate family, by your parents, can be seen by the world. You have lived upto their expectations.

Great people (eg Bill Gates) are those who give back to the society more than they got from them. Great people are remembered, not by the extent of media coverage, but the people whom they have touched in their lives. It is not what you earn as cash, but what you earn as a feeling of gratitude from those whom you have helped, that measures the true value of a great man. You can become famous to the world in general (who know and read about you), but what is real greatness is becoming the friend of those who are underprivileged. A small gesture towards a change in their lives means great to them and you are famous in their hearts forever.

So it my dream to see you getting more famous by being in the midst of the underpriviledged, after touring the world. You have a successful family that can take care of themselves. Now that you must be satisfied with your career, what are your plans to give back to the society? How much and how?

Not only money but also your time. It a fact of life that the GITA says, “Zindagi me kya laye the or kya le jayenge, Khali haath aaye they aur khali haath jayenge”.

Well hope, after you have read this, how many lives (and hearts) can we see you touching, not by your “acting”, but by your “actions”.
