Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of UAE,  announced to cancel all events for the New Year celebrations.

I say:

Rather than cancel the events, the organisers should be made to contribute towards the repair and damage that the gazans have sufferred. Also they could tie a black band to show their solidarity. In fact they need to dedicate these events to the welfare of those affected. Just showing plain solidarity, by cancelling these celebratory events (those who are affected by the cancellations will definitely have a grudge; no matter how small or big). So a positive contribution that helps those affected to recover, will be appreciated by all.
